How scalable is that chat ? Can it support 10K users at the same time ? What’s the upper limit ?

Slayer: The new Ajax IM was built for just this purpose. You will need to create a "server" script which pulls the user list and authentication from the phpBB database; see the Custom Servers page in the documentation.

I’m running a PHPBB forum, and was wondering how difficult it would be to integrate the user list for the new AjaxIM into the user list for the forum, so that once a user signs up for the forum, they’d be automatically signed up for the chat.

Frank: Right now, the plan is to start by getting Ajax IM stable, then creating integration libraries for various popular CMSes. It’s quite likely that I will look at creating database libraries for other storage engines in the future.

Is there any plan to support other storage engines, especially nosql ones?
